We were saddened to hear of the death last week of Dennis Challis long standing President of the Velocity Wessex League and a servant of the Wessex League in various capacities since it's inception. Prior to the start, a minute's silence was impeccably observed by all here at the Verwood Sherborne game, something we are sure was repeated around the League yesterday.

Announcing our new Management Team. Carl Rolfe has been appointed as our new First Team Manager, alongside Alex Benham, who will join him as First Team Assistant Manager. Carl brings with him an extensive background in youth coaching, including experience at AFC Bournemouth Academy, as well as coaching at Wessex League level. In addition, he brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and a strong vision for the future of the Potters. Carl returns to Verwood after a brief stint at Bournemouth Poppies as their First Team Coach.Alex, as many of you may know, joins us from our U23's team, where he will remain as Manager for the time being, with continued support from Carl. This will help solidify the link between our development team and the 1st team. Jamie has done an outstanding job since his appointment as First Team coach in July and will continue in this role working alongside Carl and Alex to strengthen the squad. Martin Gilham, Chairman of Verwood Town FC, said: "I am very pleased to welcome Carl Rolfe as manager, along with his coaching team of Alex and Jamie. We believe they will bring fresh energy and a strong vision that aligns with the club's ambitions. We're excited to see where this new management dynamic can take us, and we look forward to the future under Carl's leadership."

Matius Grzybowski lines up the shot that would score Verwood's third goal in a 3-1 win against Lymington Town on Tuesday evening. Verwood took the lead through an own goal, Lymington levelled to send us in 1-1 at half-time. A Joe White goal early in the second half set Verwood on track and the game settled without doubt by Verwood's third.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the departure of Carl Rolfe from Verwood Town FC. Carl has been an integral part of recruitment and reshaping of the team and also along with Alex Benham built the U23's and will be sorely missed by the staff and players. Progressing to a Director of Football role in June to work on the development and to install consistent footballing ethos throughout the teams. Martin Gilham Chairman of VTFC said "I would personally like to thank Carl for his valued input and work ethic since joining VTFC and wish him all the best for the future." hlpix "Site preparation Day - Saturday 29th June" - As we approach the start of the new season, we’re seeking volunteers and local tradespeople to help refresh our club facilities. Tasks for the day will include: - Painting, Repairing the roof on our Paybox, Welding, General cleaning and tidying. We'll have a BBQ with bacon butties, along with coffee and tea. Just come along and join us at Potterne Park from 8am to 5pm on Saturday, 29th June, and lend a hand. Carl commented “I am thrilled to have been offered the role of Director of Football and can’t wait to get started. One of our greatest strengths is our vibrant youth system and I aim to ensure continuity between the first team, the under-23s, and the under-18s. My focus will be on working with Joe, Alex and Jamie in cultivating a strong club identity, culture, and pathway”. hlpix "Appointment U23 Manager" - Verwood Town FC are excited to announce that Alex Benham has been selected as our new U23's Manager. Martin Gilman Chairman of Verwood Town FC added “Alex has been an integral part of VTFC for several years, fulfilling roles in management, coaching, and playing. Currently coaching in the youth section and the U18 team, he has also played for the Verwood Town first team. The creation of the U23 team aligns with the club's growth strategy to connect youth and senior football. Carl Rolfe from our 1st Team management staff will support Alex, offering young talented players a clear pathway to first-team football and ensuring a seamless transition between the first team and the U23 squad.”

hlpix "Sun Shines on Youth Presentation Day" - A busy day at Potterne for VTFC this Sunday (for select image for poster). First and foremost on Sunday May 12th was the Youth teams Presentation Day with awards for our many teams from ages Under 5's and up. The team presentations topped off with the return of our U11 Galaxy team fresh from clinching a Dorset County Cup final victory earlier in the day! This was followed by a Youth team managers match on the 3G whist on the same afternoon our Under 18 side were playing their last match in an end of season cup against Bournemouth Sports.
