Originally believing the club to be founded in 1920, we have now found it was actually established in 1905. We shall be holding celebrations next year to celebrate our 'Lost Centenary' and 115 years of Verwood Football Club. An event on 21st March at the Verwood Hub has been scheduled, keep the date. We will be looking to get together as many 'old faces' as possible. Amesbury with a win, would have been presented with the League Winners Trophy and celebrated today in the last match of the season for both teams. Unfortunately for them, Verwood hadn't read the script and fought hard with Charlie Gajic popping up to sore a second half goal in a 1-0 win. Ironic in that having missed the opportunity to level the match when a Verwood shot rebounded back off the post, that an Alton goal in the last gasp of the game deflected in off the post to secure their victory. We were pleased to receive confirmation recently that we have continued to maintain this standard for the youth section, adding to the Adult sections attainment renewed earlier. News "Development Opportunity" - available as the club seek a Development Squad Manager/Coach for the forthcoming season. The Development Squad currently play in the Wyvern League and the role is pivotal in helping further the club vision to develop local talent through youth and into adult football. News "Sydenhams League (Wessex) 2018/19" - The Football Association has announced the constitution of all leagues at Steps 5 & 6 nationally. The proposed constitution of the Sydenhams League (Wessex) consists of a 20 team Premier Division and a 19 team Division 1 and is as follows:-

Premier Division AFC Portchester, Alresford Town, Andover New Street (promoted), Baffins Milton Rovers, Bashley, Bemerton Heath Harlequins, Bournemouth, Brockenhurst, Christchurch (promoted), Cowes Sports, Fareham Town, Hamble Club, Hamworthy Utd, Horndean, Lymington Town, Portland Utd, Shaftesbury, Sholing, Tadley Calleva (promoted), Team Solent.
Division One AFC Stoneham, Alton, Amesbury Town (relegated), Andover Town (relegated), Downton, East Cowes Vics, Fawley AFC, Folland Sports, Hythe & Dibden, Laverstock & Ford, New Milton Town, Newport IoW (relegated), Petersfield Town (relegated), Ringwood Town, Romsey Town, Totton & Eling, United Services Portsmouth, Verwood Town, Whitchurch Utd.
