Our Story

Verwood Town Ladies was established over the summer of 2014. We hope you will follow our progress or maybe even join our friendly group of players on the pitch.

Having formed in that long hot summer (only kidding!) with suppport from Sponsors and from Verwood Town Football Club, we entered the Dorset FA Womens League. Our first season provided us with valuable experience at both team and club level albeit finishing in the lower reaches of the league.

The second season saw a big improvement in team performances. We became an entertaining team to watch, and an even harder one to beat challenging at the top of the league for the first few months of the season, heading the league at one point, and only losing one game prior to Christmas. The winning streak was eventually broken however by Bere Regis, who would go onto win the league. A mix of circumstances, and absences meant lost impetus a little, unable to fulfil all that early promise but still achieving a respectable league position at the end of our second season.

The start of our third season necessitated a rebuilding job after university, pregnancies, new jobs and personal issues saw a number players unable to return. A number younger players were signed to support our longstanding regulars. A mixed bag of performances together with unforseen absences made life difficult early on, but as the season moved on a progressive improvement was seen.

As the third season came to a close our long term manager departed to leave the job in the hands of the current Manager, Olly Burton. We very much look forward to our fourth season as a team and our first under the stewardship of Olly.

The Minster Partnership

The Minster Partnership was formed by two experienced FCA registered Independent Financial Advisers in May 2013 to provide new and ongoing Financial Advice to the general public and companies under the Retail Distribution Review rules.

Subsequently the practice has taken on the services of a dedicated, experienced and qualified Independent Mortgage Adviser and two additional, fully qualified, Financial Advisers, one of whom holds the highest qualification possible in our industry having a Chartered status. The advisers are well supported by a friendly and efficient administration team of three who ensure the office runs smoothly.

We are very well placed in the centre of the Dorset town of Wimborne and are well connected with all the other professions and banks within the area.
