02-Oct-16 Newport Nil Nil Our new Chairman, Martin Gilham, now fully onboard from 1st October, took the opportunity to introduce himself in our matchday programme on Saturday, his article is repeated below

Good afternoon everyone
I am very pleased to be offered the opportunity to take on the Chairmanship of Verwood Town Football Club and look forward to the challenges ahead. I have lived in Verwood since the mid 80's and seen many changes and a huge growth in local football for all ages.

I first became involved with Rossgarth Youth Football Club around 15 years ago, running a team for 12 years and I am still the current Chairman of Rossgarth Youth Football Club. A clear aim during the current season is to generate closer links with the local youth clubs (Rossgarth and Verwood Girls), this will build on the wealth of local football talent, giving them a chance to progress to play for Verwood Town FC. It is always very satisfying to see players progress through the Youth Ranks and play for the Senior Team.

The start of the current season has been very challenging for Verwood Town FC with a number of committee members standing down and changes in team management. The club has pulled together during this period and plans for future growth are being generated. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all involved with the club for their support over recent weeks.

The team performance and result on Tuesday evening at Hamworthy was great to see and hopefully will provide a platform for the club to progress.

Finally we are always looking for assistance at the committee so if interested in getting involved in any form please come and say hello and I can provide further information.

07-Sep-16 Club News Release - Verwood Town Manager
It is with regret that Verwood Town have decided to terminate the position of Manager with Gavin Reeves with immediate effect. Gavin was asked to remain with Verwood Town as Head Coach but sadly, he has declined this offer.

The recent playing form, which has resulted in the team achieving only one point out of a possible 18 points, and the loss of key players has led the committee to this extremely difficult decision.

Verwood Town's absolute priority is to safeguard the club’s Wessex Premier League status and an improvement in results is essential due to our current League position.

We would like to thank Gavin for his efforts and wish him the very best for his future career. The Verwood Town committee hopes to make an announcement regarding the club's new manager in the near future.

05-Aug-16 Club Notice - Verwood Town FC Chairman "Club News Release - Verwood Town FC Chairman"

At the Club's AGM in June, Steve Jefferis indicated his intention to stand down as Chairman of Verwood Town Football Club. Regretfully, and with immediate effect, the club have accepted Steve's resignation from his current position. The club are pleased to announce that Martin Gilham has been appointed as new Club Chairman effective from October . In the interim period, any Chairmanship duties will be shared and undertaken through the Club Committee.

Steve, with the Support of the club committee has overseen the recent Team Management Changes at the club which saw Gavin Reeves appointed as the First Team manager and Kris Anderton as his assistant. With this now established, and with increasing pressures on his time Steve has decided that it is now personally right for him to take a break, stand away from club matters, and relinquish his role as Verwood Town Club Chairman and Committee member.

The club would like to place on record it's great thanks to Steve for all his hard work and dedication as Club Chairman over the last 4 years and we do hopefully look forward to seeing both Steve and his good wife Laura (who we must also thank for her tremendous support to the club) at some games in the future.

The Club are pleased to announce that Martin Gilham has been appointed as new Club Chairman effective from October. Martin, the current Chairman of Rossgarth Youth Football Club and also our Verwood Town Reserves Team Manager will need time to manage his own transition and affairs (and also take a holiday!) hence our agreed starting date of October as the new Club Chairman. In the interim period, any duties normally undertaken by the Chairman will be shared by the Committee who will also work to help manage the transition.
