Cove started better than us but we soon found our feet and almost went in front with a cracking effort from McWilliams that flew just wide of the post.

We drew first blood from an Ollie Lowes free kick on 20 minutes followed by a Matt Pope blaster to make it 2-0.

Cove lost a man to a red card after a hefty foul, but continued with some good football despite their loss. Five minutes after Matt Pope's crashing drive for our second we gave away a penalty. No mistake 2-1.

Another two penalty claims for Cove were upheld during the game with Mitchell making a brilliant save from one and watched the other join the Red Arrows.

We played good football throughout … Dave Kerr, Aidan Shepherd, George Richardson and just before the whistle Jake Carswell slotted home our sixth.

Fingers will point at a depleted Cove but reality is that we found our missing qualities shown in recent matches and even had Cove had 12 on the park this game was ours.
