Goals on 7, 37 and 41 minutes put Bashley into a commanding position by half time. We had struggled to compete against a much quicker and fitter opposition. It was a disappointing 45 minutes and a fired up Adie Arnold tried to inject some enthusiasm at half time.

Dyer, Warren and Kelly led the way in pursuit of clawing back some pride with Donachy and O'Hare pitching in at the back.

New signing Beattie linked with Dyer. Dyer whipped a crossfield ball out to Fisk and a deep cross was headed clear. In came Kelly for a crack at goal and forced a good diving save from the keeper. It was a good opening.

The game see sawed. Bergin had to be replaced because of a hip injury and Barrett came on in a one for one.

Fletcher was having more of an impact wide left and almost scored with a good run and shot from a narrow angle. The ball was deflected for a corner. Dyer dropped the ball on the penalty spot. The keeper's fist beat Donachy's head to clear.

We then had a dominant spell from Bashley. Stroud pulled off a great save on the line and Kimber used good feet to stop an attempted volley and then round the attacker to spark a counter. Fisk cut into the box but Bashley bodies had re grouped and blocked Fisk's effort.

O'Hare and Donachy coped well with central attacks and we pushed on again.

Webber came on for Fletcher with 15 minutes left.

9 minutes left. A scramble in our box from a high cross resulted in a penalty decision. Many thought it harsh but the result was a 0-4 score line.

Gilham replaced Mason immediately after the penalty, and within a minute of joining in slipped the ball down the right flank for Fisk to go free and try a shot. The ball was half cleared and Kelly stole in to fire wide.

The whistle went allowing Bashley to go home with three points.

Result 0-4.
