An unfamiliar line up..

On the park .. Jackson Begley Bergin Harding Kelly B Goddard Dyer Head Guthrie Foster Kelly R

On the bench..

Brock made the initial running forcing Jackson into a high catch with only a couple of minutes gone. We were still settling when Jackson was in action again with a double save as Brock slung a ball wide right. A high cross was hammered in but Jackson was down to palm out. A follow up volley tested Jackson’s reflexes but Jackson was equal to the task and gathered safely.

We looked disjointed and Brock penetrated down our right to finish with a high cross. A shot went high and wide.

Our mid field spluttered and Brock enjoyed a lot of possession. Our odd attack featured Kelly and Guthrie being well policed and little opportunity presented itself for a decent shot on goal.

Then Jackson proved his value with a triple save as Brock pushed on. A shot low to the bottom right hand corner was flicked out. An angled shot was blocked by feet and then as the re bound was hit low Jackson stretched and made a difficult catch.

A good move sparked by Dyer found Guthrie. A twist and turn created space and a low shot was blocked. The re bound fell for Bergin who blasted just over the bar.

A clash after 20 minutes left both Begley and his man down on the ground for treatment but both survived.

Harding and Kelly managed to win their individual battles for headers and Harrison cleared two through balls high into the stand.

33 minutes we opened up like a can of sardines. A runner ghosted through and managed to beat a very on form Jackson. 0-1.

Ryan Kelly chipped a great ball for Guthrie on 40 minutes but Guthrie’s route was blocked by two defenders.

3 minutes left a runner free wide right and went unchecked. Cutting in to the corner of the box a low shot made it 0-2.

Half Time 0-2

Brock continued where they had left off. A shot went high over Jacksons bar and then Jackson made a good save at the foot of the post from a half volley.

Signs of a better understanding between our players became evident with Godddard springing a move on the right and Foster cleverly turning his player and delivering a good ball into the box. A half clearance fell to Ryan Kelly and a tremendous volley hit the bar and bounced out. Foster followed in and forced the keeper to make a brilliant save tipping the ball round the post.

The corner whistled over the bar.

63 minutes gone and Gilham came on for Guthrie.

65 minutes a high ball from the depths of Brocks defence was nodded back to Jackson but without power. A runner took advantage and slotted the ball past Jackson into the bottom corner. 0-3.

We had a good spell of football with Gilham Foster Head and Dyer prominent in pushing forward. Dyer worked the ball right. Foster slipped his marker and whipped a great cross to the far post. Goddard went free but then whistled up for offside with only the keeper left to beat.v Ryan Kelly hit the side netting and Bergin delivered a teaser the keeper took under the bar.

Jackson faced a one on one as we pushed up and got caught at the back. Jacksons boot did enough to give away a corner.

An inswinger dropped in a melee of bodies and it was Ben Kelly’s boot finally clearing the area.

Head and Gilham’s right flank move had promise but a good tackle on the edge of the box killed hopes of a goal.

The whistle went on a victory for Brockenhurst.

Result 0-3.
