DORSET PREMIER LEAGUE

BRIDPORT RESERVES 2 VERWOOD TOWN 1
A decimated squad due to injuries and illness meant a bare 11 turning up at Bridport for a must win game. It wasn’t to be.
A Dave Kerr cracking goal after seven minutes put us ahead and remained that way until with three minutes left of the half Bridport squeezed home a goal to send the teams in at half time with 1-1 score line.
Several chances had been available to both teams in an open and at times good football performance. It was certainly not a display expected from two teams languishing in the bottom set.
Half Time. 1-1
A few handbags appeared in the second half resulting in Kerr and Norris needing extensive attention.
Bridport pressure increased as the game went on and although we had opportunities we couldn’t find the net.
Bridport converted a free kick with just a few minutes left giving them the three points.
Result. 1-2
