East Cowes had the ball in the net in the 5th minute but luckily the ‘Goal’ was ruled off side.

Wake up call. We picked up immediately and hit back with a good attack down the right but then watched Criciun’s cross drift over the bar.

11 minutes gone and a counter attack saw ECV take the lead with a simple goal following a break on their right. A low cross was diverted past Dinnivan. 0-1.

3 minutes later we responded with a Dinev chip over the keeper giving Ivo his first for the club and levelling the score line. 1-1

Play continued to flow at both ends and although opportunities to score fell to both side th half finished 1-1.

Half Time. 1-1

Tackles got a bit feisty as both teams went for the lead. Dinnivan was bowled over while gathering a high ball and Weardon suffered injury from a biting tackle bundling him over the touch line.

34 gone ad Lordache replaced Grzybowski on a one for one. Fudge replaced Knot a minute later.

We then experienced yet another spell of being on top of the opposition but unable to capitalise.

A killer blow with two minutes left gave the three points to ECV leaving a very frustrated Verwood team and management, a long trek home.
