A couple of new signings and further enforced shuffles of our line up faced top of the table New Milton.

For 20 minutes there was little difference between the teams, and it was shared activity in each third. Dinnivan had a couple of saves to make but the New Milton and Verwood attacks were contained mainly in the middle of the park.

Then for some inexplicable reason we lost discipline and suffered a goal down as we allowed play to drift into the box and a clear chance opened the New Milton tally. 20 minutes 0-1.

New signing Sergio Criciun was unlucky to see a great effort punched up in the air by the keeper and eventually cleared off the line.

Concentration lapsed. 34 minutes a ball drifted into our area and a rooted defence watched as a simple unchallenged header made it 0-2.

38 minutes Richardson came off for Toth and on 40 minutes Brazier came on for Found.

Play meandered to half time with no further activity.

Knott and Kerr came on for Hockey and Wearden respectively at the re start..

Criciun handed a life line with 3 minutes gone. Rounding his marker a left foot daisy cutter beat the keeper 1-2.

We continued pressing and then the malady struck again. Lack of concentration very little running off he ball and consequently oceans of space.

New Milton’s Christmas box resulted in further goals on 15, 23 and 28 minutes.

From a god opening spell and a mini resurgence at the start of the second half we lost our way and gave New Milton the 3 points on offer.
