Match Report Frimley Green vs Verwood Town 16-Nov-24
VELOCITY WESSEX LEAGUE DIVISION ONE
SATURDAY 16TH NOVEMBER 2024
FRIMLEY GREEN 6 VERWOOD TOWN 2
Nine changes to line up, 3 new signings and 6 squad players missing through work and injuries. A big headache for Manager Carl Rolfe.
We found difficulty in settling and the first half looked like the game could be a ‘goalgeddon’ . Frimley’s goals on 6 17. 31. 36 minutes were gifted.
A gradual change in the flow emerged as we settled into rhythm. Patmore scored a great goal on 38 minutes to make it 1-4.
In the last 10 minutes of the half Patmore and Miller went close and Hockey hit the side netting instead of increasing his seasons tally.
Pushing too far upfield cost us a goal on 47 minutes. 1-5.
Credit to the squad. On the whistle no heads had dropped and taking encouragement from a growing confidence as the game progressed made ready for the second half.
Half Time 1-5.
Space given in the first half disappeared as we re shuffled slightly. Frimley’s freedom curbed and applied pressure had them on the back foot.
Grzybowski and Hockey caught the eye with efforts and a Dilnot low shot from an angle was inches out from reducing Frimley’s lead.
37 minutes and pressure paid off. A penalty. Up stepped Kayde Dilnot. Keeper ..no chance. 2-5.
At the back we were tighter. Dinnivan’s handling qualities and a determined defence made Frimley suffer frustration.
We pushed on too far in the last couple of minutes and Frimley reaped reward to finish the scoring at 2-6.
Result. 2-6
