A first half of fast paced open football finished with a blank score line at half time. Chances fell to both teams but our inability to finish continued with little threat on the home side’s goals against .
Whitelaw went close a couple of times and Hockey continued his improved performances with pressure on Romsey’s central defence. None of the shots on goal though counted.
Defensively, Dinnivan continued his good form and a good back four kept Romsey at bay.
Half Time 0-0.
18 minutes saw Romsey go ahead with a low shot from the edge of the area. 1-0.
It was slightly against the run of play but sparked a retaliatory period in which once again we had chances but didn’t convert.
On 22 minutes a harsh decision saw Bignell heading for the shower and a resultant penalty putting Romsey ahead 2-0.
5 minutes later Kerr suffered injury and McGinty substituted. Changes followed with Buggey on for Knott and Richardson replacing Whitelaw.
We continued to push on. Romsey had to make a defensive shuffle and despite a man down we dominated play but denied the ultimate reward of scoring a couple of goals.

A few minutes left and a long clearance caught us out 0-3. Not reflective on performance but the score line confirmed 3 points for Romsey.
