The first half belonged to Follands. The second evens. It was enough for Follands to take the three points.

We spluttered in the first half allowing Follands time to knit their attacks together. Defensively we looked quite sound with Broad catching the eye with a quality performance. Mitchell also had to perform to his highest standard taking care of several efforts on target.

26 minutes gone and we caved in. A free kick drifted into our box and a grateful unmarked player steered the ball past Mitchell. 0-1.

Follands continued their pressure. We relied on counters but didn’t have enough in the locker to change the score board.

Half Time 0-1

We started the second half well and Burpitt went close in the first five minutes trying to convert a Stock through ball. The side netting was the recipient.

Our usual free flowing football was still missing but we were performing better.

Fishlock came on with 6 minutes gone for Harley Stock and 4 minutes later we had a double substitution. Cam Smith came on for Isaac Storey and Sam Farndell came on for Cam McMonagle.

Fresh legs helped to up the tempo but we were still short of our usual sparkle.

On 20 minutes a Follands free kick dropped on the far post and an unmarked player nipped in to head the ball into the roof of the net. 0-2.

28 minutes and Burpitt made way for Tabor.

1In the closing stages we had shots sailing over the bar and wide of the posts. None troubled the keeper.

It made for a frustrating second half and an inevitable defeat.
