This game was another of frustration as we failed to hit the back of the net. Andover scored an early goal in the first half to pick up three points but for most of the game we produced some excellent football only to squander opportunities.

We performed well with everyone working for each other. Smith and Carswell had the better of midfield and McMonagle as usual was a thorn in Andovers defence. A good effort from McWilliams deserved to be a leveller but the keeper did well to palm the ball away from the bottom corner.

Andover had benefitted from our slow start but couldn’t penetrate a solid back four and keeper Mitchell after their initial flurry.

Several changes to the intended line up had taken place with Davis wearing the Ronaldo 7. Ten Hag is aware.

A similar score line at half time appeared as with last Tuesday’s……..

Andover’s half time chat had a marked affect as a more aerial approach was evident.

Broad McHale Kerr and Sumers had their work cut out but did the job demanded of them.

We got back in to the game playing some excellent stuff with Carswell and McWilliams architects of attacks. Unfortunately we fired blanks in front of the sticks.

We continued suffering from our current malaise. Finishing.

Andover NS are good side but on the day we should have come away with a point at least.
