Jack Driscoll’s run into the box with 3 minutes gone was blocked and the ball cleared before he could get a shot away Danvers collected he clearance and opened a gap for Butler. A pass wide split T&E on their left. In came Vining to blast a shot over the angle.

A good opening few minutes but then a test for our defence as T&E countered. Dyers versatility and experience counted as he took up a spot alongside Kelly. T&E tried several high balls down the middle but Dyer and Kelly confidently kept the area clear.

We left a slight gap on the right and almost suffered going behind as a high cross dropped virtually on the line but there was Dyer to crucially belt the ball into touch.

T&E’s energy needed matching. Hall and Driscoll did well in midfield and both Danvers and Nicolson handled flank pressure well.

Vint brought out a tremendous save by the T&E keeper with 10 minutes gone. Davies won a corner and his inswinger was followed in. Vint’s powerful header was pulled from underneath the bar.

We maintained pressure but got caught when a long ball into our box produced a comedy of errors. A long looping shot dipped over Hind but hit the bar. The ball bounced onto the spot and a toe ender smashed it into the net 0-1.

It was a shock but no heads dropped and we attacked down the left. Davies was the architect of the move sending a defence splitting pass to Vint. A quick turn and Vint lost his marker. 1-1.

Butler turned provider with 24 gone chipping a ball to Vint on the edge of the box. Vint laid off to Hall but the ball flew high overt the bar.

29 gone and we won a free kick on the edge of the area. Up stepped Butler to hammer the ball over the wall and into the net. 2-1.

Davies whipped past defenders with 6 minutes left of the half. Cutting the ball back to Danvers gave space and Dancers cross was nodded home by Butler 3-1.

Half Time 3-1

First minute of the half and Vint slid the ball for Vining on the edge of the box. Vining’s effort came down with Ice on it.

Hall drifted past defenders but before unleashing a shot was felled on the spot. Vint stepped up – 4-1.

T&E upped their energy levels and on 31 minutes slammed a free kick past Hind 4-2. Not to be outdone a minute later Butler took our free kick 20 yards out – 5-2.

Matt Vining came off to give Dan Hunt a run and then Driscoll made way for Cooper with 8 minutes left
