Although a few missing we had a strong squad with a very mature Kris Anderton propping up defence.
Brockenhurst had a good start with attacks on the flanks but we gradually forced our way into the game with Mike Snow and Brad Goddard dominating their opposite numbers.
Callum Curry looked on form with his bustling style causing concern in the Brockehurst ranks. A couple of long distance attempts on goal were well taken by the keeper but it looked only a matter of time before we got on the score board.
A slick move starting with Dan Ryan cleared the way for a clinical finish from Russell Dyer giving us the lead. 1-0.
An over confident spell resulted in a sloppy back pass giving space for a run on goal. Jerrard had no chance with Brockenhurst’s equalizer. 1-1.
Brad Daughters took legs, giving away a free kick. A high dropping ball was carefully watched and controlled by Harvey Elsom. Good feet took Elsom away from the area and a low ball down the flank put Eaton free. A jinking run finished with a cross for Curry. A lay back was hammered for goal from Mike Snow, but the ball flew just over the angle of bar and post.
Brad Goddard had a couple of attempts as did Russ Dyer but we suddenly found ourselves on the wrong end of the score line when a break took forwards clear and gave Jerrard a bad back. 1-2
We were playing well but not denting the Brockenhurst defence.
Harvey Elsom and Brad Daughters came under pressure for a while but provided a total block on Brockenhurst hopes of going further ahead.
Russ Dyer turned inside his marker to fire just wide but then a copy cat move resulted in a leveler when Dyer hammered an unstoppable shot past the keeper.
Matt Jones collected a ball from Kris Anderton half way through the second half and a good run finished with a low shot just past the post.
Dan Ryan continued his overlapping runs as we got on top. Good deliveries into the box gave a couple of opportunities for Curry and Eaton but the keeper did well to stop us going ahead.
Gilham came on right mid and was instrumental in sparking an Alex Eaton effort that deserved better than a brushed post.
A ball over our backs was chased back by Elsom. A wide ball to Dan Ryan put us on the counter. Snow and Goddard split the defence and Callum Curry raced in to lob an advancing keeper. 3-2.
We should have had another from an Alex Eaton effort but the keeper did enough to deflect the ball out of the box.
Dyer sparkled on the right giving a torrid time to Brock’s left flank. Balls into the box though were not converted so the game meandered with few attacks looking to alter the score line.
Then a catastrophe. A lapse in concentration, a good Brock follow up and a simple pot at goal slipped past Jerrard to make it 3-3.
Frustration instead of patience followed and what should have been progressive play turned into a loss of control.
Gilham Dyer and Curry created one move that was worth a goal but the Brock keeper did well to claw the ball from under the bar.
The whistle went on each team grabbing a point but for Connor Jordan and Andy Hardiman this was a loss of 2 points.
Result 3-3.
