We started well. Attacking down the right we split Odd Down's defensive pattern and from the bye line Elysee crossed for Haskell to try a header was stopped from crossing the line by the keeper's strong right hand. The ball then bounced around the area before a boot sent it high and clear.

Two minutes later Murray overlapped and crossed. This time the ball fell just inside the area for Arnold to slam goalwards. A good defensive block stopped any hopes of going in front.

We had the better part of possession for the first ten minutes and then Odd Down sprang to life. A quick incisive move down the right a low cross and Delaney did well to turn the ball away from danger. In it came again and this time Lynch cleared with a solid header.

Tong made a high catch as we found ourselves under more and more pressure. For some odd reason we didn't contest as well as we should have done and found ourselves defending deeper and deeper.

We eventually rallied and got back some of the midfield possession.

Arnold whipped the ball out to Murray a line ball found Homer and an angled shot whistled inches wide.

28 min a high ball was part cleared by Dear and a stunning volley whipped past Tong...0-1.

2 minutes later another volley winged its way into the top corner. 0--2

1 minute later Elysee crossed and Haskell spun and put the ball into the bottom corner 1-2.

44 minutes the ball dropped into the area and scramble finished with the ball skidding past Tong....1-3.

Half Time 1-3

Homer collected the ball from Lynch and rounding the back hit a cross shot the keeper did well to hold. A long throw wide right and it was Lynch who had to head clear from a dangerous cross. The ball bounced out of the area. In swept OD and Tong had to make a great save to prevent OD going further ahead.

OD was now using space and their running kept us at full stretch. They had the edge but we created a few chances to test their backs.

Stephens chipped a great ball into the path of Elysee and continuing the move Elysee swung the ball across to Homer. The shot hit the side netting.

OD broke right and Murray made a last ditch tackle to stop the cross.

Dear then did the same on the other side as we were pressed on the flanks.

We stepped up our effort and fought back. Haskell went close and then Homer almost had the ball in the net with a volley that skipped wide.

84 minutes a free kick hit the box and Elysee had a chance but hit the ball straight down the keeper's throat.

A brief flurry of frustration as the game ground out in the middle of the park introduced hand bags but it was all over in a flash and we then had both side going for another goal.

It was a good last ten minutes. Haskell went close then Tong leaped high to make a good catch from a deep cross. v 93 minutes and we got caught too far up field. A long clearance from the visiting keeper was picked up and a free run at our goal resulted in a score line of 1-4.
