Report
Yet again so many changes forced upon us with some players being
away and a couple going up to the first team means I can get no
consistency in performance. Coupled with the fact that if it
wasn't for Andy Munson hot footing it from work we would have
started with 10 and if it wasn't for Martin Friendship
accepting an 11th hour call up we would not have had a sub.
Not acceptable for a Club our size and I can understand why
Reserve team managers have a short life span as it's such a
frustrating job.
Still the team worked hard, on the day we were beaten by the
better side who were quicker to the ball and who thought quicker.
Two goals in the middle of the first half decided this fixture,
the first had an element of luck as the forward miscontrolled the
ball but in doing so made himself a great chance as he had
completely wrong footed our defenders and then struck a left foot
shot into the bottom corner. The second goal from a corner was
handled by a Westover player who then rifled it back across our
six yard box to be deflected in by another of their players.
Unfortunately the referee overruled my flagging for the offence
as he had not seen the offence.
However no complaints on the scoreline. We had a penalty in the
second half for a foul on Tristan but yet again failed to convert
it with Martin Newbury's attempt being well saved by their
keeper diving to his left. This was with 10 minutes to go and who
knows if that had gone in what may have happened?
