Report
The conditions were awful and at the end of the day, they played them better than we did. With our squad depleted again with 3 players in the first team, Liam still injured, Gary working and Lee on holiday we could only muster thirteen players, three of which are 17 or under.

Electric had the better possession in the 1st half in which players were slipping over and finding it difficult to keep their feet, however our defence held firm with the middle of Coley and Will Cobley putting in outstanding performances. When they were breached, Colin made two or three smart saves. We had our chances, but the final pass was woeful which gave our forwards very little to go on. Our work rate though was fantastic and at the interval it was anybody’s game.

The 2nd half started off the same with Electric keeping possession for long periods, however we started to grow in confidence, as they were not really hurting us. It was Verwood who took the lead, when we broke out of defence, put a few passes together which resulted in Carl taking on their defender and being brought down just inside the box. Pete Hunt converted the penalty. A couple of minutes later we had a great chance to go 2 up. Peter Eyre slid Adam through, he rounded the keeper, but went too wide and his shot went wide of the far post. Within 5 minutes they were level. A dubious free kick was awarded to them in the middle of our half of the pitch, 3 of our players stood still arguing the decision, Electric took the kick quickly from the wrong place, but the referee waved play on and from a cross from the right they had a free header due to numeric advantage and it was 1 ~ 1.

Five minutes after that, disaster struck when from an attack the left winger had a shot, which squirmed under Colin’s body and into the goal.

After that there was only going to be one winner, the boggy conditions were beginning to tell on our young players and Electric got a 3rd five minutes before the end.
