Match Report Verwood Town vs Wool and Winfrith 29-NOV-15

LADIES FRIENDLY MATCH
SUNDAY 29TH NOVEMBER 2015
VERWOOD TOWN LADIES 11 WOOL AND WINFRITH LADIES 1

Debuts for Lauren, Hannah, Trish and Jeannette proved to be very successful with Hannah claiming 1 assist and both Lauren and Trish finding the net. Jeannette had an impressive game on the left wing.

The team set up in the familiar 4-2-3-1 formation with Lauren stepping in to partner Lowri as Steph took up the keeper’s place.

Wool attacked and pressed hard from the off and had the better of the early exchanges, but Verwood soaked the pressure and slowly got into their rhythm.

On the 10 minute mark, Lowri placed a perfectly placed through ball for Jo who clinically finished to put the girls one up.

Jo doubled the lead on 15 minutes with a terrific solo effort.

Charlie made it three just 3 minutes later and then took her tally up to two on 40 minutes after another great pass from Lowri.

Half Time 4-0 up and Verwood were getting back to their best.

The second half started with Wool putting up strong resistance as Verwood piled on the pressure, but Paige finally found a way through and scored two herself within 10 minutes of the second half. Jo was the first to score a hat-trick and being satisfied with her work, agreed to take over in goal, which gave Steph the opportunity outfield.

Lauren scored her first goal for the team on 60 minutes after Hannah, played the ball in from the right, then just 1 minute later, Paige claimed her hat-trick.

Lauren doubled her tally on 70 minutes.

Steph had a few chances and eventually claimed her first goal for the team on 75 minutes.

Wool didn't give up however and played their best to the very end. They scored a well deserved consolation goal late on and Trish got off the mark with her first goal of the season.

Full Time 11-1

A fantastic game for the girls who appear to have their Mojo back and firing on all cylinders. Thank you to Wool who gave us a really enjoyable game and we look forward to meeting them again soon in the league and in future friendlies.

Player of the game: Trish: Did everything well and made no mistakes in her game. Fine finish to claim her first goal too.
