VERWOOD TOWN 2 TADLEY CALLEVA 2

Jaco Castillio-McPherson (hereinafter – Jaco) hit a peach of an opener in only three minutes against Tadley Calleva. George Turner was provider with a dink across the box landing nicely for Jaco to celebrate his first goal for the Club.

Tadley's response was a run down the right and a dangerous cross diverted for a corner by Ballard. Lynch was positive with his punch clearing the danger upfield.

Davies and Dyer then worked the ball down our left resulting in a low cross from Dyer. Guthrie followed in but defenders boots got in the way of a second goal.

The middle of the park was hotly contested with Browning and Gale having the greater possession.

Tadley made us work hard with some good defensive play and quick counters. Manley and Watkins did exceptionally well to contain dangerous flank play.

35 minutes on the clock and we were stung with a close range header proving just too much for a Lynch strong hand. 1-1.

Half Time 1-1

Tadley's team talk at half time spurred them to up their pace but we matched effort and with Davies and Turner causing concern in their back four we had a slight edge in play.

A Gale Guthrie combination on 55 minutes almost cracked the score line but a great save from the Tadley keeper kept scores level.

64 minutes we got what we deserved with a goal prodded in from close range by Turner's right peg. 2-1.

Tadley reacted with some good approach play but Manley Gajic Ballard and Watkins stood firm holding out well against a barrage.

Dyer's through ball to Guthrie split a defensive wall but the keeper was out quickly to save just inside the area.

Pressure was intense towards the end of the game and time spilled over to 95 minutes when Tadley got a corner. Everyone joined in from Tadley. Players - Keeper - Bench - Managers - Supporters and their tea Lady. A massive scramble and the ball finished in the net. The whistle blew on the re start.
